Setting Up a Risk Management System

While the overall risk management system does not need to be formal, it needs to have contingency plans in place of whatever incidents might occur. Employees need to be trained on how to handle these different negative incidents. In this world, anything can happen. According to Murphy’s Law, “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”
Risk assessment involves five steps:
1.      Identifying risk
2.      Measuring it
3.      Formulating strategies to limit it
4.      Carrying out specific tactics to implement those strategies
5.      Continuously monitoring the effort
A good place for business owners to start is with a business plan. Reading through it can give you a good overview of where some of the problems can arise. It’s like a banker deciding to fund a business and thinking about the possibilities that can cause the business to default on its loan. It is important to always expect the unexpected. It is best to always have backup plans and alternatives, because the more options you have the better off you will be when it does.
There are many businesses that can be contacted to provide risk management consulting or workplace safety services. If you are an owner of a small business and can’t afford that right now, a brainstorming session with the rest of your crew is an alternative. Create a list of all the possible risks you need to manage and decide on what action is needed to handle each possibility that you outlined. Once the list is done, you are ready to look at what you need to put in place to manage the risks in your workplace.

What Cyclists Wear and Need

The group of items that should make up every cyclist’s is clothing. A cyclist needs a quality bike helmet. A bike helmet that doesn’t fit perfectly increases your risk of getting a serious injury so it is best to make sure that it fits properly.
What a cyclist wears depends on whether he or she is riding for sport or on a competitive scale. The average cyclist will be comfortable in the usual cycling apparel, which consists of comfortable shorts and tops. The advanced riders, on the other hand, need cycling skinsuits to decrease drag and improve their speed.
For cycling accessories, protective eyewear or sunglasses is important since covering the eyes protects you from the sun’s blinding glare as well as those unexpected bits of debris that fly through the air. Next on the list is cycling gloves and these are a must for both safety and comfort. A cyclist’s hands need special attention regardless of the season because they are exposed to cold, wind, rain and the rays of the sun. If a cyclist goes down due to an accident, for instance, his hands are usually the first to make contact to the ground. A cyclist should not forget to include socks and sports shoes in the list of cycling gear.
One very important item that a cyclist should bring with him is a tool kit that includes a bicycle pump together with a puncture repair kit with patches. Bringing these ensures a safe activity for beginners and veterans.

Save when Buying School Shoes

When school is about to start, shopping for new children’s shoes is the chore that parents share. Some begin to recall the way their first day started and how the wonder of having new shoes felt like back then when they were children.
Some things that should be considered before purchasing a new pair of kids shoes is whether or not the shoes are made with quality materials and if they fit well. Shoes need to be flexible and have to sustain extreme activity. In addition to that, it should also provide cushioning and support for the child’s feet as well as allow body heat and moisture to escape. Finding the right size is very essential in buying new shoes, and for children, the right size would mean about an inch of space since they can outgrow them easily.
Since shoe sizes depend on the manufacturer, it can be hard to buy a shoe without the presence of the person. An accurate fit can only be assured once the person’s foot is inside the shoe. In some shoe stores, the salesman often measures the distance between the second toe and the end of the shoe, because for some people the second toe is the longest.
Shoe experts recommend getting your child two pairs of school shoes and have him rotate them every day. Doing this can make you save more in the long run, because doing this will allow the shoes to last as long as three pairs.

The Environmentalist in you

The news tells us of different calamities happening in different parts of the world - calamities brought about by the exploitations done on the environment. Our actions are coming back to haunt us and if we're not careful, we will soon feel Mother Nature's fury.

The release of Eco Friendly bags has made a major impact in society. More and more people are becoming aware and concerned. Supermarkets in Australia are now encouraging people to bring their own shopping bags in an effort to lessen the use of plastics. These Enviro bags are recyclable bags that are used as a replacement instead. They come in a wide variety to choose from. One of which are the Calico Bags. Calico bags are made from organic cotton and other natural materials making them durable, strong and reusable. Designs come in carry bags, tote bags or messenger bags. With these bags, you get to choose which style suits you and you can even design it to your own preference. It's a customized bag and a recyclable one at that.

With little efforts of saving the environment from people across the globe, we just might appease Mother Nature once again. Maybe we don't even need to feel her fury anymore. That will definitely be something we can do without.

This Is It by Michael Jackson

The famous "Dancing Inmates" from Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, a maximum security prison in the Philippines, were recently treated to a visit by Michael Jackson's long-time choreographer Travis Payne and dancers Daniel Celebre and Dres Reid to learn performances from This Is It.

Sony Pictures' Fritz Friedman tells USA TODAY's Mike Snider, "We thought it would be a great idea to pay homage to MJ on the occasion of the release of This Is It by going to Cebu and having Travis work with the dancers to create this piece which is from the film."

Unfortunately, it wasn't done in time to go on the DVD and Blu-Ray discs, which are out today. But Sony Pictures DVD did post this on YouTube.
